HPV

What does it mean if I am HPV positive?

Being HPV positive means you carry a type of the human papillomavirus — it is common, usually clears on its own, and simply means closer monitoring.

A positive HPV test means the virus is present. HPV is extremely common and most infections are cleared naturally by the immune system.

It does not mean you have cancer. It signals that your cervix should be monitored more closely, sometimes with a Pap smear or colposcopy.

HPV counselling helps you understand which type you have, your risk level, and the follow-up plan that keeps you protected.
