Colposcopy

How often do I need a colposcopy?

Colposcopy is not a routine test — it is done when screening results are abnormal, and repeat visits depend on your findings.

Unlike Pap smears, colposcopy is not part of routine screening. It is recommended when a result needs a closer look.

If treatment or monitoring is needed, your doctor may schedule follow-up colposcopies at set intervals.

Once results return to normal, you usually go back to standard screening.
